Pleasebe informed that Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has advised to all Main LineOperators,

FreightForwarders and shipping Agents that all LCL importsto Chattogram should fit standard

palletization/packaging, with shipping marks affixed.

Pleaserefer to the attached customer advisory for your information which is uploadedon HMM websites.

Ifthere’s any penalty to be incurred, it will be shipper’s sole responsibilityand Carrier will charge the related costs to them.

However,since CPA will not impose the penalty to cargo owners directly, but to Carrieror its Shipping Agent,

therefore,please circulate it to customers, to make sure to be aware of thisannouncement.

nContent: Refer to the Attachment 1 for details.

※Shipper atloading port should note that:-  

–All the cargoinside the container should be standard palletized as if cargo quality remainsintact.

–All thepackages/carton of the cargo should be affixed with proper shipping marks and

theshipping marks describe about the details of the products or goods in box orcontainer and instruct

workersto easily recognize that what types of products to be handled and whatprecautions must be taken.

–A shippingmark is an identifying word, number, or symbol placed on freight to designatethe consignee,

destination,weight, and related information. It also includes information such as theitem’s size, the origin

ofthe country and the quantity of products in the box or container.

Please note that below guideline isapplied to LCL (Less than containers load) cargo only. For FCL (Full containersload),

the standard palletization is notrequired when importing to Chattogram port.

- For FCL/FCL ( CY/CY ) , there is no requirement forstandard palletization

unless cargo nature requires to maintain palletizedinside the container .

- Usually for FCL/FCL status, if cargo community is DGand contains commodity like Chemical in drums/jar/bottle/etc.,

then standard palletization is required to maintainloading uniformity inside the container .
