SUBJECT: IRAQ –Port Situation Update and Emergency Cost Recovery Surcharge effective 11November 2019
With reference tocontinued updates from our Iraq field office, the nationwide protests anddemonstrations in Iraq have resumed again and Ports / Terminal operations areturned on and off since 25 October 2019.
Port operations hasbeen suspended since last night at North and South Port with blocking of roads;seriously impacting the terminal / gate activities and vessel schedule. Alloperations including discharging / loading of containers as well as picking upand clearance of containers from the port is being delayed. Feeder schedule toand from transshipment port is also critically affected.
Resulting fromadverse circumstances beyond carriers’ control and the additional costs causedby operations suspension, feeder schedule delay and long idling at transshipmentport, we have implemented the Emergency Cost Recovery Surcharge per below formaintaining our service.
EMERGENCY COSTRECOVERY SURCHARGE (ECR) for all shipments to IRAQ
Scope: All shipments to Iraq ports
Quantum: USD 50/100 per 20’/40’
Effective date: With effective from 11th November 2019(Port of Discharge date in Iraq)
Payment Term: Under Collect in Iraq
